  • Games that run fullscreen should be set to do so using -f -fullscreen options in command. Also same applies for kids-edu games like tuxpaint tuxtype tuxmath. Help? Someone to list all games we include using a fullscreen option. Defendguin?

OpenOffice?

  • As above for file associations.
  • Memory - Graphics cache - increase from 20 -> 80
  • Save path set to the My Documents folder in /home/user

VLC

More changes to 13/03/08

  • Added Gramps
  • Put Gramps in Edutainment rather than office. Changed Description.
  • Removed gdm
  • Edited /etc/fstab - commented out usb refs. Deleted directories /media/usb1 /media/usb2
  • Updated PDF guide.

Changes to 2/04/08

  • Added gnucap (req for gcompris electrical circuit simulation)
  • Added root account tool for cleaning up printer drivers (KD noted this as an issue when installing printer drivers, need to run foomatic-cleanupdrivers if the printer list goes missing in kprint). Basically we added a "Reset Printers" button to the account tools menu for root. When the user clicks the button the foomatic-cleanupdrivers command is issued.
  • Label to swap in clone script as per barry's suggestion: add "-L SWAP" to the mkswap command in the clone script
  • It was noted that Gnome PPP could not set up an account for Pacific Net. We had to use pppconfig talking to pon/poff. Menu items were created for this user - Configure the Internet (pppconfig), Connect to the internet (pon), Disconnect from the Internet (poff), Monitor Internet Connection (pppstatus -s 56). With regards to the Gnome PPP problem - we are looking into it but it could be related to PAP/CHAP authentication.

Changes to 01/05/08

  • Fixed Gnome PPP problem - it presented again with respect to Planet Prepaid. The fix is documented over at http://vic.computerbank.org.au/wiki/193GnomePppSomeISPs

  • Updated /etc/issue with date stamp 01/05/08

Changes to 30/05/08

  • Fixed Openoffice problems. Options dialog window too big. Installed AU dictionary.
  • Updated /etc/issue with date stamp 30/05/08?

Changes to 25/06/08

Changes to 16/06/08

Having trouble copying and pasting content --kylie, Wed, 13 Feb 2008 03:48:36 -0600 reply

I have a 13 page doc that i need to copy into here - basically Barry's guide. I'm getting weird errors with certain slabs of text. This doc lists a lot of the changes we have made to KDE.k
