Database Report September 2008

Team:

The database project currently consists of the following developers: Head Developer Wendy Langer, Python Developer Patrick Chan and Project Manager, User Interface Jan Smith.

Overview

The project commenced in April 2007. The aim is to design and build a web based database to cover most of Computerbank's work processes. The open source database will cover contact details, receipients, computers, sales, user support and free training.
Development tools: PostgreSQL for the database and Django for the web based front end. JQuery for the Ajax framework. Subversion is being used for the code repository via Google Code for opensource projects.

Completed Tasks

History in Reverse Order

By 3rd September, 2008:

o Patrick has completed a fuzzy search on Contacts and next has to extend the search to include sales.

o Wendy has commenced developing the Sales section

o Jan has uploaded a copy of the emerging database to our hosted space. For testing purposes only. We are not yet ready to test with users.

o Patrick and Jan are reviewing a Django Templating book for Packt Pub

o Wendy has recently finished reviewing a Python for Experts book also for Packt
