INTRODUCTIONS
BRIEF BACKGROUND ON PROJECT
Computerbank began life on the Internet a little over 3 months ago. Groups have started up in Sydney and Perth. A mailing list has been established to swap ideas and avoid unnecessary duplication. E.g. - where a service (email support) can be provided regardless of location. Experiences of others will provide valuable tools that groups can draw upon. (E.g. those wanting to start similar projects in other states and countries) See http://www.computerbank.org.au/
About 40 people are subscribed to the mailing list. Most subscribers are from Australia, many are in Melbourne. Discussions have centred on incorporation, documentation, aims and how to, volunteers and trainers, programs we could use, and etc.
An Archive is available at http://www.seul.org/archive/computerbank/
